Welcome to FACTA 2024
Dear colleagues,
We are very much looking forward to our next FACTA meeting in Hobart in March 2024. Building on the successes of previous meetings, we plan to have an excellent program full of science and social activity! With the diverse range of expertise within the FACTA community, we expect to cover topics such as clinical toxicology, new analytical methods, workplace testing, post-mortem toxicology, and new and emerging drugs.
Professor Christophe Stove from Ghent University in Belgium will be our main keynote speaker, sharing his novel and exciting research on activity-based assays for NPS detection, dried blood microsampling, and detection of alcohol markers. There will also be a special session focusing on amphetamines in the community, with contributions from Dr Paul Liknaitzky (new therapeutic uses of MDMA) and A/Prof Rebecca McKetin (treatment of methamphetamine dependence).
It’s sure to be 3 days full of discovery – new ideas, new friendships, and new perspectives.
See you soon in Hobart!
Kind regards,
Tim and the FACTA team
