TIAFT 2016 – Next FACTA event
The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists – 54th Annual Meeting, Brisbane AUSTRALIA
Meet, discover, experience Brisbane, Australia
Stunning by nature, Brisbane is renowned for its relaxed outdoor lifestyle, friendly locals, cultural scene and diverse attractions. Brisbane has a vibrant edge, a free-spirited optimism, a sense of adventure and a determination to do things just that little bit differently.
Here, the thinking is shared, the ideas are up for grabs, and the problems are solved together at international and national conventions. And in between the itinerary, whether you have a few hours or a few days, there is plenty for you to experience and make the most of every moment.
You’ll be welcomed in and shown the local places to visit, the designer labels at Queen Street Mall and James Street, the alfresco bistro and cafés, and specialist bars. Brisbane’s city lifestyle is marked by South Bank’s inner-city beach, riverside parklands hugging the Brisbane River, and culture-rich precinct housing Australia’s largest Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, and Queensland Performing Art Complex.
The 2016 conference will be a joint meeting of TIAFT and FACTA (Forensic and Clinical Toxicology Association Inc. of Australasia) and the Society of Hair Testing (SOHT).
FACTA has a management committee (board) elected by members of the association and holds annual scientific meetings in Australasia, and is a registered association in Australia.
An organising committee has been established and consists of the FACTA board/TIAFT members – Olaf Drummer, Mark Stephenson, Dimitri Gerostamoulos, Irene Kourtis, Shanlin Fu, Tim Scott and Dianne Ansell.
Other members will be recruited in the coming year and includes a committee responsible for the scientific program, sponsorship and trade displays and social events.
An international advisory committee will be established to assist in the planning and reviewing of abstract submissions (all will be peer-reviewed) as well as chairing scientific sessions. The conference dates are Sunday August 28 – Thursday September 1, 2016.
